Thank you University District Kiwanis Club

This week, Carol Mahoney joined the University District Kiwanis for a festive holiday lunch to share the impact that KCCP-S sponsored Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellows are making for pediatric cancer patients at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Afterward, the club presented her with a donation of $5,000 to continue advancing this critically important work!

Carol and the members of University District Kiwanis Club celebrate a hopeful future for pediatric cancer research!

AI-driven research advancements

Pediatric Hematology / Oncology Fellows at the three major children’s hospitals in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle Children’s Hospital, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, and B.C. Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, B.C.) continue to make major breakthroughs on childhood cancer research using AI and other advanced computer technologies to create new, less invasive therapies and cures for children diagnosed with childhood cancer.

Researchers are now able to predict which children are the most at risk for developing chidhood cancer, what type of cancer they are likely to have, and when and where their cancer will appear. Therefore, several Fellows are focusing on prevention strategies for the children most at risk based on the information obtained from AI and super computers.

In addition, therapies much less toxic than chemo and radiation are continuing to demonstrate success in children diagnosed with advanced childhood cancers.

Your donations to KCCP are making a huge impact for our physician/scientists who are advancing the science and bringing about better therapies and cures for childhood cancer, especially now that research funds for childhood cancer are becoming more difficult to obtain from our government health agencies.

We welcome and appreciate your support of the PNW District Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program (KCCP) which is helping to save the lives of children at risk for and diagnosed with childhood cancer!

Thank you Mukilteo Kiwanis Club

In October, the Kiwanis Club of Mukilteo generously supported our vision of a future where no one experiences childhood cancer, by funding critical research and clinical trials at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Thank you Mukilteo Kiwanis for your generosity and support!
